Got part way through the course on character. Stopped at the antagonist. I believe the antagonist is my protagonist Barbara, but I need to think on that. Part of the objective of this story, the theme of ‘the world is not a story’, is to not present a black-and-white set of good and bad guys. Characters who appear to be enemies become allies, and vice-versa. Because of this, there is no character that remains a direct antagonist for the entire story.
Finished the fifth draft of Ribbon Road.
Fell short of the original word count goal, mostly because I didn’t anticipate the 1500 or so words I took out during the editing process. But, the draft is now primed for the inclusion of the second part.
That’s one micro-dream-declaration complete.
Will plot the next declaration tomorrow. It’s late, and I need to dream.
