Antiquarian bookselling is a trade that seems ready-made subject matter for books. Booksellers are always looking for books to acquire, and every book they acquire tells its own story (relative to chain of ownership). My job is often just as much to research a book as it is to market and sell it.
So nice to meet another Laura Ingalls WIlder fan. I actually had the opportunity to visit the Ingalls homestead in DeSmet, South Dakota some years back. You can camp there in a covered wagon. It was a childhood dream come true. Le Carre is certainly one of the best of his genre. I don’t know that I could write a spy novel, but I certainly enjoy reading them.
I may take you up on the offer to help me choose which book idea to try to write. Thanks for the offer and let me know if I can do likewise. One of the best things about this group is the opportunity to get feedback and critiques.
