Should You Write a Standalone?

Many authors have very successful careers writing standalone novels.

Standalones allow you the freedom to write in different genres with all-new characters, and you can pursue any story you feel like, and there’s no pressure to release a follow-up, and you’re less likely to be typecast as a certain kind of author.
