I live in the urban jungle of Chicago, but escape to the Northwoods of Wisconsin whenever I can. The latter is a great place to lose Wi-Fi and write and read.
Speaking of reading, many of my favorite tales are dark and supernatural, but I’ll read any genre if it’s well-written and engaging—sometimes only needing one of those qualities. I’m also a sucker for fairy tales.
My favorite authors are Neil Gaiman, Stephen King, Madeline Miller, Joe Hill, Benjamin Percy, Shirley Jackson, Matt Fraction, and many, many more.
A number of those authors undoubtedly inspired my current project; I’m writing the fourth draft of an urban-fantasy novel, where two people fall in love at first sight, get hit by a train, and discover they can now heal at superhuman speeds.
My biggest dream is to tell stories for a living. Through novels, short stories, comic books, stage, film scripts, and so on. Whatever medium best suits the story I have to tell, I’m willing to learn its craft.
Looking forward to writing and learning with you all.
